This resource website has valuable information for educators, students and families to understand the impact of bullying and what steps can be taken to address this serious issue. Bullying causes distress within schools, families and the community, and is on the increase as shown in research and statistics. Bullying is a community responsibility. Partnerships between schools, families and the community need to be formed to eradicate bullying. This website offers hyper links to numerous websites offering advice, information and support. Your bullying and social resilience resource (Field, 2012)
This well known author and psychologist Evelyn Field has researched the issue of bullying for forty years. This website provides information and resources to manage bullying. There is links within the page describing topics concerning what is a school bully and social and emotional issues as well as names of books on bullying that can be purchased. The author provides newsletters and an email address educators and families can contact for advice. Evelyn Fields states that we need to educate our families to reconnect and address issues with their children (Field, 2012). Kids Helpline (2014)
Kids Helpline is a highly important resource that provides a 24 hour, 7 days a week phone number for children who are in need of advice. Sometimes these children are very distressed and need urgent counselling. There is also email and web counselling that children can access. The website contains links to stories that have been published by other children that have been or are going through the same experience.
